Section One: What Information We Collect and How We Use It
(1) Necessary Functions for Router Management and Control
1. Upgrade Services
Tenda Product Software Upgrade: We collect information about the country code of the mobile device you are using (e.g., phone, tablet) to promptly notify you of new product software and enhance your user experience.
Tenda WiFi App Software Upgrade: We collect information such as your mobile device's software installation list, app software version, region, and language settings to promptly notify you of new app software and enhance your user experience.
2. Device Management
When the App is running in the foreground or background, we collect information such as your mobile device's location, MAC address, and IP address to enable you to use device management functions. This allows you to determine whether your mobile device is connected to the managed WiFi, identify the device connected to the current WiFi as your mobile device, and prevent your mobile device from being mistakenly added to a blacklist.
3. Router-Related Settings
When you use router-related settings (e.g., wireless settings, internet settings, LAN settings, signal strength), it may result in WiFi disconnection between your mobile device and our products and/or services. To facilitate automatic reconnection to WiFi, we collect your mobile device's location information to enhance your user experience.
4. Region-Based Services
When you use our products and/or services, we collect information such as your mobile device's country code, time zone, and language to determine your country or region. This allows us to provide specific services and ensure the proper functioning of time-related features.
5. Login and Registration
We collect your registered Tenda WiFi App account and password (in encrypted way) information to ensure that when you re-enter the App without logging out, your account will be automatically logged in, providing you with a better user experience.
6. Notification Alerts
When you enable notification alerts, we need to collect your mobile device's unique identifier information (IMEI/Android ID, etc.) to send timely notifications to your device. If you don't need notifications, you can disable them in "Me-Notification."
7. About Us
When you view the "About Us" content, we collect information such as your mobile device's software installation list and language to allow you to directly access other apps (such as Facebook, etc.) from the Tenda WiFi App. This provides you with more information about our products and/or services and enhances your user experience.
8. Scanning and Photography
When you use the Tenda WiFi App to scan QR codes or take photos, we will access your mobile device's camera permission for scanning and photography purposes. You can deny us access by disabling the camera permission in your mobile device's system settings, but this will prevent you from using this functionality. Please be aware that we only obtain this permission when you grant authorization.
When using functions that require image collection, we will access your mobile device's camera permission and gallery/storage permission for image data collection and storage purposes. You can deny us access by disabling these permissions in your mobile device's system settings, but this will prevent you from using these functions. Please be aware that we only obtain these permissions when you grant authorization.
(2) Necessary Functions for WiFi Security
To enhance the security of our products and/or services and prevent unauthorized access by hackers or unauthorized personnel, we collect your Environmental Characteristic Value (ECV). This is a numerical value generated from your Tenda WiFi App account, mobile device's unique identifier information, connected WiFi account, and location information, which is used to verify user identity.
(3) You should be fully aware that in the following situations, we collect and use personal information without requiring your consent:
